THE LAST SEDUCTION BY SMOKESKRENE

THE LAST SEDUCTION

{overall rating}- * * *

{action}- Very nice punch.

{humor}- It has great little lines. Like "Did you tell her about the black man." "I am hung like a horse." "I borrowed money from a man who's first and last name end in vowels."

{nudity}- Brief at best.

{blood}- Maybe a little but not enough to count.

{gore}- Nope.

{acting}- Peter Berg is still a little rough around the edges but its good. Nothing Oscar worthy by far.

{plot}- Smart plot. Bad writing for the most part.

{film quality}- 90's. Cinematography is very TVish. That’s not a good thing.

{entertainment factor}- Incredibly dry. But its still enjoyable.

{Aprox. amount of time spent fast forwarding}- Zero.

As a rule I don't often watch Bill Pullman films. There are a few (very few) exceptions, but it’s a good rule. I watched The Last Seduction more to quiet it from my Netflix suggestions than enjoyment. I am a fan of Linda Fiorentino. Who doesn’t like Peter Berg? Who will like this movie? Bill Pullman is a schmuck who gets lucky on a one time drug deal. He then makes the mistake of hitting his dominant wife played by Linda Fiorentino. She leaves with the money and sets out to start a new life. This involves fornication with Peter Berg and a new job in a small town. Peter Berg is even more of a schmuck than Bill Pullman. Peter and Linda have a roll reversal going on. She is the dominant with a "male" sort of sex drive. Peter has a need for intimacy and just wants to talk after sex once and a while. Bill Pullman is desperately trying to seek out Linda because a loan shark is breaking minor parts such as his thumb. This movie is sort of built up as a erotic thriller (hence the title,) but its not very erotic or thrilling. This film tries to be intelligent. The setup and concepts are but the dialog and basic pacing hurt it. The answer is I like this movie. Rent it.
