28 WEEKS LATER

{overall rating}- * * *

{action}- Full of very fast paced action.

{humor}- Not that kind of movie.

{blood}- Very dark.

{gore}- Quite brutal really.

{nudity}- The most brief .5 seconds ever.

{acting}- I've always liked Robert Carlyle but he just lacks the acting chops to pull this one off in the beginning.

{plot}- This is a pretty good spin on zombie movies and on its predecessor.

{film quality}- Very good but there is a lot of distortion when the camera moves fast. I can't tell if it was intentional. The shoulder camera is really really lame.

{entertainment factor}- Will definitely keep your attention.

{Aprox. amount of time spent fast forwarding}- ZERO

28 weeks after the outbreak of the zombie virus Robert Carlyle and his children are rebuilding their lives. The US has allowed refugees back into the area's of Britain that were once infected. That’s what you call a back story. Thank god someone remembered to fill me in. The two children set out to their old house to get some belongings the problem is the area they lived in is still under quarantine. Seriously how stupid are kids these days. Didn't they watch the first movie? There they find their mom who their father had left for dead. The mother is a carrier of the virus and upon her deceitful husband's kiss he turns into one of "them." Suddenly the UK is a zombie playground. This movie starts with a bang and slowly fizzles. Its not that the pace slows down it actually speeds up. Movies these days seem to miss the Evil Dead strategy of calm than action. They just don't take enough time to build suspense. The action is too fast. Its confusing. The story is good (minus daddy popping up everywhere.) But its easy to forget there's a plot with all this action. The fact the ending doesn't really accomplish anything won't help you like the plot. Don't get me wrong I like the movie. I just wish more time would have been taken to set up this elaborate action. Very good rent for anyone.
