CRIMES OF PASSION (1985)

{overall rating}- * * * * *

{action}- There is a lot of action in this movie but its mostly Freudian.

{humor}- The role playing scenes are hilarious at times.

{nudity}- Kathleen Turner.

{blood}- There is some blood but its not really the point here.

{gore}- Very minor if you can count it at all.

{acting}- When you begin watching this (and you should) you'll be instantly nervous due to a cheesy Kathleen Turner role playing scene. Don't worry the acting improves almost instantly.

{plot}- The writing is simply amazing.

{film quality}- Typical Ken Russell quality, which I suppose is anything but typical.

{entertainment factor}- In the 5 star league.

{Aprox. amount of time spent fast forwarding}- Trust me you won't need to.

Bobby is a 30 year old man with wife who is cold and two children he loves very much. He is hired to investigate a woman who is believed to be selling corporate secrets. She does have a secret, but its not secrets she's selling. (It’s the worlds "oldest" profession.) Joann is a designer by day and hooker by night. She prides herself on being the best in both of her lines of work. Bobby ends up taking her up on her services and meanwhile a lunatic preacher wannabe begins to stalk her. Ken Russell makes amazing movies. This is by far the best. If you like Indie plots, exploitation's sexual absurdity and just great characters in general, this is for you. Annie Potts and Kathleen Turner are out of this world good. Its not often a film is this well written in today's world. If they were still making movies like this the screen writer strike would actually be justified. Don't take my word for it, OWN IT.
