Resident Evil Extinction is the third in a line of video game movies. You’d think that would tell me something but I at least try to play ignorant to these stereotypes for the sake of enjoyment. The movie starts with an almost nude Milla Jovavich. I was thinking to myself “I must be in for a movie as good as Antibodies” based off the K-fleet assement. Almost an hour and three dogs later the action finally begins and still no nudity. The action sequences in this movie are so fast its almost hard to tell what’s going on. There are about 15 instances where there could be sweet decapitation but this is avoided. Instead of giving a back story you get to see our star vixen riding a motorcycle. It seems like much of the beginning of this movie is just there to kill time. They should have been telling people what’s going on because if you don’t have a basic knowledge of the other films you will not get this at all. I am a firm believer that sequels, while in a series of movies, should still be able to stand on their own. This makes the movies easier to watch and allows new audiences to get a better understanding and perhaps spend there cash on watching the first two. No first time watchers will be interested in seeing the first two after this because of how lost they will be. Overall this is a decent movie that I’m sure some fans of the series will really enjoy. However people just getting interested will lose interest with a lack of answers or an ending with any closure at all. The only thing stopping this from being a more legitimate outting is a good script and better effects. I wish these big studios would quit throwing money at these franchises. With a budget and a cast like this three is as bad as a one.
