Why do I watch Jean Rollin’s films? It’s for the great scenery, eroticism, and hot-bodied French women.

A couple have a picnic in a cemetery and then decide to have sex (or at least take their shirts off and fondle one another, since that’s all we see) in an open crypt. I’m sure Jean likes to keep things natural, but they should have shaved the dude’s back before they shot the shirtless scene. And, what’s up with the clown in the cemetery, maybe some hidden meaning that I’m not intellectual enough to get?

When they emerge from the crypt, it’s now dark and they can’t find their way out. The dark and eeriness cause them to go nuts and act a fool. While trying to get out, the dude falls in an open grave, and then the chick jumps down to join him, and they start making out on piles of bones. What the F-ck? They then continue to look for a way out, and happen to stumble upon the original crypt from which they were in. He gets back in it to wade the night out, and she locks the entrance off while babbling some mumbo jumbo. She then hummingly dances around the graveyard until daybreak, when she re-enters the crypt and shuts the doors. The End.
What a disappointing entry in Jean’s filmography. Yes, we have good scenery and a little nudity, but this was done more artsy-like and with a bland storyline. And, I think Jean really likes cemeteries, since they tend to appear in several of his films. Rent it if you’re a fan, otherwise pass it up and don’t look back.
