{film quality}- I kept thinking to myself that the quality made it look much more recent than it is.

A man double crosses his “special forcesque” terrorist group by jumping out of a plane with their money. This movie is sort of a “What if DB Cooper jumped into a over grown field area while being chased by a swat team who’s being mutilated by scarecrows movie.” Whoops now I’ve told you the plot.
What makes a great horror movie is a sort of underlying amazement factor. This movie doesn’t have it. Its entertaining. Scarecrows is just to one dimensional monster for the sake of monsters. No back story. I don’t mind that it dives right into thick of things but some times you need a little explanation as to why scarecrows are gutting people as if its revenge. I think this is an example of great execution of a “hurry lets make a movie” script.
