Horror-porn, aka gorenography, is a newer label to a genre that’s been around since the 70’s, if not before. Since normal movie comparison doesn’t hold, and almost every porn theme has been done, I use the following criteria to judge quality: was it erotic, did it have an interesting storyline, were the actors/actresses good looking, and was there good hardcore? Yeah, cheesy/stretched acting and horribly fake blood is to be expected, but weak money shots cannot be tolerated.

Succubus, not to be confused with Jess Franco’s movie by the same title, is about Lilith, a demoness who is unearthed at a construction site. Redhead goth queen, Liz Vicious, takes the leading role and begins her bloodshed from the moment she breathes new air. She takes out one worker with a shovel and then grinds on his dead body, the other gets the pleasure of boning her, but then dies from suckulation (if you know what I mean). She then continues her path of seduction and slaughter playing no favorites to gender. Raven Riley plays an antique collector/expert (hottest I’ve seen), who after seeing an article of the “accidents” in her hometown's newspaper, heads that way to find out more. We soon find out due to her lineage, she’s next in line to fight the succubus.

Raven hooks up with the chief of police, played by Kevin Baxter, who is also investigating the town’s deaths. They get busy in four different scenes, but sadly, each venture is less invigorating than the prior. Sure, Raven is hot, and homeboy is packing a big stick, but I would rather have seen her with more gents. And, Raven out-acts her counterpart, as most dialog from Kevin’s mouth seems unnatural and forced.

The finale, aka The Last Orgy (in my words), takes place at Uncle Joey’s Terror Town, where Lilith had been defeated and buried years before. Raven comes in looking like Tombraider, or rather Wombraider, and her partner, in full SWAT gear, takes his sniper position on the roof next door. Boom, bang, blood and body parts fly, Uncle Joey gets blown to pieces by a bazooka (quite humorous), and Lilith manages to escape. Raven, quick on her tail, catches up to her and falls under her seductive spell. They disrobe, share a lesbian adventure, and in the heat of the moment, Raven pulls out her phallus knife and shoves it up Lilith’s love hole. Ha, evil conquered once again! Or is she, as the ending scene (Raven and Kevin's last hurrah) hints otherwise.

As with many other films in the genre, this was plagued with the normal things, and even though the phallus knife and stripper taking a curling iron in the snatch were creative additions, it was not enough to keep my interest. Sure, Liz and Raven are both drool-worthy with their own allure, but all the other porn stars did absolutely nothing for me. And, when I thought I couldn’t get enough of Miss Liz Vicious, having viewed her website and pics numerous times before this, watching her sex scenes became tedious, and I even fast-forwarded through most of them to get back to the story. Oddly, because it’s usually the other way around.

It’s definitely worth a watch for Raven and Liz fans, as you’ll see ample nudity and hardcore, but don’t expect a masterpiece. Much thanks to Tom at Evil Motion for giving me a price break on the DVD, I look forward to more growth and features from this studio.
